Developer teams are groups of developers (or other Discord users) who want to collaborate and share access to an app's configuration, management, and payout settings. This guide will walk you through creating and managing a developer team.
What is a Developer Team?
A developer team is the foundation for building and managing apps on Discord. Teams are required for app verification, but they also let you easily share ownership of your Discord applications, invite collaborators to your project, and maintain continuity if members of your working team change over time!
Having a team also gives you centralized management for multiple applications, making it easier to organize your Discord development projects in one place.
Creating Your Developer Team

- Navigate to the Teams section of the Discord Developer Portal
- Log in with your Discord account
Step 2: Create a New Team

Step 3: Configure Team Settings
Once created, you can configure additional settings under "Team Details," such as team permissions and roles, adding team members, and updating the team name and icon.

Team Roles
Team members can have different permission levels:
- Owner: Full control over the team and all applications
- Admin: Can manage team settings and applications. They cannot take destructive actions on the team or team-owned apps.
- Developer: Can access and modify applications but cannot manage team settings
- Read-only: Can view applications but cannot make changes
⚠️ Important: There can only be 1 owner per team.
